| The Cotswolds can be a winter wonderland and the magic
of a snow covered Bourton on the Water is a real possibility. One of the famous
seasonal attractions of the village is the Christmas tree which the Chamber of
Commerce erects in the river each year. The profusion of lights reflects in the
rippling water creating a scene never to be forgotten.

| The tree is lit from 1st December to 5th January, but the official
switching on celebrations are held at 6pm on the first Friday of December, the
date of the Victorian themed Late Night Shopping. With the village ablaze with
fairy lights and local people dressed in Victorian attire, shoppers can meander
through the streets absorbing the festive atmosphere. There is a plethora of
gifts from which to choose and an excellent choice of cafes, pubs, and
restaurants for food and refreshments. |
